Park City with Kids in Winter: Family-Friendly Things to Do
You don’t have to be a family of hardcore skiers to plan a winter trip to Park City. Yes, skiing and snowboarding are a huge part of the draw, but there’s plenty to do off the slopes too, especially when you’re traveling with young kids.
I’ve visited Park City twice during winter, first on a quick couples trip before kids and later for a longer trip with our then 2- and 4-year-olds and a group of friends. Unsurprisingly, those 2 trips looked pretty different. Together, though, they gave me a good feel for how Park City can work for both a classic ski weekend and a family winter vacation.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, you can go tubing, explore Utah Olympic Park, wander historic Main Street, try other snow activities, or simply find a warm pool and hot tub and enjoy being surrounded by the snowy Wasatch Mountains.
Traveling with a baby? I’ve also shared some of my favorite non-ski activities to do with a baby on a ski trip, based on our first ski trip with our 13-month-old. We were in Breckenridge for that trip, but many of the ideas work just as well for a Park City winter vacation.
This isn’t meant to be an exhaustive Park City travel guide. Instead, I’ve pulled together the places we enjoyed, activities worth considering, restaurants, and practical tips to help you start planning a family-friendly winter trip to Park City, Utah.

Is Park City Worth Visiting with Kids in Winter?
Park City makes an easy winter getaway with kids, whether your family plans to ski every day or barely ski at all. Between the mountain resorts, tubing, Utah Olympic Park, Main Street, snow activities, restaurants, pools and hot tubs, there’s plenty to build a trip around for different ages and interests.
Our family trip with a 2- and 4-year-old looked very different from our earlier couples ski weekend, but both worked. That flexibility is one of the things I like about Park City. You can make it an active ski trip, a slower snowy mountain getaway, or a little of both.
If you’re bringing a baby or toddler who isn’t ready for the slopes, read my non-ski activities to do with a baby on a ski trip for more ideas that translate well to Park City.
